Music
Biography
Singer, Pianist, Polyglot, Weightlifter
Born in New Zealand, Soprano Katherine Merryman grew up in a small town along the Mississippi River in Illinois.
​
After graduating as a voice major from Interlochen Arts Academy, a boarding school for the fine arts, Katherine double majored in Vocal Performance and French at DePauw University School of Music and trained further in Vienna, Austria and Paris, France. She earned her Master's vocal performance degree from the Prayner Konservatorium in Vienna, Austria. She speaks French and German and has sung in nine languages.

A skilled speaker and writer with a talent for developing unique programs such as "Lifesong," "Zeitgeist: A Journey of Song from the Medieval Age to the 21st Century," "Gratitude in Song," "Christ's Birth Songs: Perspectives," and "Mystery of Faith: Were You There?" she excels at collaborating with musicians and non-musicians alike to provide audiences a theatrical experience accompanied by music that tells a story.

Katherine's excellent acting is evident when she sings, wholly embodying the emotion of the characters she portrays, delivered with her clear, rich soprano - full yet agile.
Katherine is also a pianist and weightlifter.
