
Biography



​Born in New Zealand, Soprano Katherine Merryman grew up in a small town along the Mississippi River in Illinois.
​
​​After graduating as a voice major from Interlochen Arts Academy, a boarding school for the fine arts, Katherine double majored in Vocal Performance and French at DePauw University School of Music and trained further in Vienna, Austria and Paris, France. ​
​
​She earned her Master's vocal performance degree from the Prayner Konservatorium in Vienna, Austria. She speaks French and German and has sung in eleven languages.​​
​​​A skilled speaker and writer with a talent for developing unique concert dramas, she excels at collaborating with musicians and non-musicians alike to provide audiences a theatrical, story-telling experience.
​
​
​​​​Katherine's excellent acting is evident when she sings, wholly embodying the emotion of the characters she portrays, delivered with her clear, rich soprano - full yet agile.
​
​​
Katherine is also a pianist and weightlifter.
